Building Public Support for 9-1-1 Funding

Securing stronger, more sustainable funding for 9-1-1 often requires leaders to work beyond the limits of their agency budgets and become active advocates for the broader emergency communications community. In this session, Devin will speak with Dan Koenig about his experience advocating for 9-1-1 funding in Florida and engaging local, state, and federal government representatives. The conversation will explore how 9-1-1 leaders can build relationships with public officials, communicate their needs more effectively, and find creative ways to pursue greater support. It will also examine how sustainable funding ultimately strengthens the people, operations, security, and technology behind reliable 9-1-1 service.
