In this video, Kaka shares a real weekend in her life as a Chinese ninth grade student. Her weekend starts with homework. After finishing her first week of ninth grade, she has many assignments to complete, including practice books, test papers, and a difficult geometry proof problem. Like many students in China, she tries to finish most of her homework on Saturday, because Sunday is for her favorite drawing class. At noon, Kaka goes to her grandma’s house for lunch. Her dad works very hard and is often busy from early morning until late at night, so her grandparents take care of her most of the time. Grandma’s house is not big or fancy, but it is full of real family life, warm food, and memories. In the afternoon, Kaka goes with her grandma to get a vaccine certificate required by her school. Later, she returns to Grandma’s house and starts learning how to use an old laptop given to her by Uncle Tommy. Even though she is already in ninth grade, computers still feel very unfamiliar to her. But she hopes learning it may help her see a bigger world one day. At night, Kaka goes back home and continues doing homework until midnight. This is not a special weekend. This is a real weekend. This is one ordinary day in the life of a Chinese student. Thank you for watching Kaka’s second video.
