The Alaska Adventure Begins! | 700 Miles in a Military Truck

The road to Alaska officially begins! 🏔️ In this video, I’m leaving the Outer Banks of North Carolina and driving my custom-built LMTV military expedition truck roughly 700 miles to the Finger Lakes region of New York. This is the first leg of a much bigger journey toward Alaska. I’m stopping in New York to spend some time with family, restock supplies, grab some last-minute gear, and finish packing before turning west and beginning the long drive toward Canada and eventually Alaska. After spending seven months designing and building this military truck into a fully self-contained expedition vehicle, most of my videos so far have focused on the build itself—the electrical system, plumbing, modifications, and all of the engineering that went into it. Now it’s time to actually use it. This first 700-mile travel day means roughly 11 hours behind the wheel, plenty of diesel, a few fuel stops, and a chance to start seeing what long-distance travel in a 20,000+ lb military truck is really like. And this is only the beginning. Over the next several weeks, I’ll be taking the LMTV across the country and north through Canada on the way to Alaska, documenting everything along the way—from incredible campsites and remote roads to hiking, exploring, drone footage, maintenance, fuel costs, breakdowns, repairs, and whatever else the trip throws at me. The truck may be finished, but the adventure it was built for is just getting started.
