If you only learn one type of seam, let it be this one! This is the most basic of seams, often called a Plain Seam / Basic Seam / Regular Seam (or sometimes sewing patterns will just say "stitch").
In this video you will learn how to stitch a seam, what a Seam Allowance is, how to Backstitch (and why that's super important!), and how to iron your seam (oftentimes a pattern will call for you to "press seam open" – this is what they mean!)
This video is taught using a Bernina 1031, but you will probably see many similarities no matter what machine you use. The biggest difference will be in the backstitch function – on the Bernina 1031, it is a lever that is pushed up for the duration of the backstitch. Other machine may use a button instead.
