The Battle of Stalingrad, Animated: The Brutal Fight for the City | Part 2 of 4
September to November 1942. The German Sixth Army reaches the Volga - and the war for Stalingrad shrinks to floors, stairwells and cellars. Sergeant Yakov Pavlov's men hold a single apartment block for nearly two months, the 13th Guards cross the river under fire, the factory district becomes the front line, and Lyudnikov's Island holds on. Meanwhile, hundreds of kilometres away in Moscow, a plan is taking shape that will turn the city into bait.
