Major roads and entry points have been blocked with shipping containers, while more than 22,000 security personnel have been deployed across the capital. Reports also suggest that the security arrangements, including the rental of 1,550 containers, accommodation and meals for additional personnel, could cost the government more than 1 billion Pakistani rupees. Meanwhile, Imran Khan’s three sisters—Aleema Khan, Uzma Khan and Noreen Niazi—have been detained, with authorities citing public-order concerns. PTI has criticised the action, while the government has stressed the need to maintain law and order.
