A Week in the Lake District ⛰️🌲⛵️ | Ullswater Heights Spa Pet Retreat Lodge 🐾

Come along with us for an unforgettable week exploring the beautiful Lake District with our dog Remy! 🐶💚 We stayed at Ullswater Heights Holiday Park in one of their Spa Pet Retreat Lodges, which was the perfect dog-friendly base for a relaxing week away. Our lodge had everything we could have wanted for the ultimate stay, including a private hot tub, cold tub, sauna, patio with fire pit, and all the usual indoor amenities. It was the perfect place to unwind after a busy day exploring the Lakes. 🌿 DAY 1 – Aira Force & Gowbarrow Fell We kicked off the trip with a visit to the stunning Aira Force Waterfall, followed by a hike to the top of Gowbarrow Fell. After working up an appetite, we headed to Pooley Bridge for drinks at the Secret Garden Bar & Restaurant. 🧖 DAY 2 – A Relaxing Day at the Lodge After a busy first day, we took things much slower and made the most of the facilities at our lodge. We also headed into Penrith to stock up on some kitchen supplies and food for the rest of our stay. ⛵ DAY 3 – Bowness, Windermere & A Boat Trip! Day three was our busiest! We headed to Bowness-on-Windermere, parking in Windermere before walking down to Bowness and enjoying the incredible lakeside views. We stopped for a refreshment break with an amazing terrace overlooking the lake before taking a boat trip across Lake Windermere. The best part? Dogs were allowed on the boat! 🐾⛵ It was such a fantastic experience and one of the highlights of our trip. We then headed to The Boardwalk Bar & Grill for lunch, where we enjoyed their two-course set menu and were lucky enough to get a table right on the waterfront. We finished the day with drinks at the Belsfield Hotel, overlooking the stunning Lake District scenery. ☀️ DAY 4 – Buttermere & The Infinity Pools We were joined by Amy for day four as we spent the day exploring Buttermere. It was an incredibly warm day, making it the perfect opportunity to visit the Infinity Pools for a much-needed cool down! Remy even had a paddle too. 🐶💦 That evening, we stayed close to home and enjoyed dinner at the on-site bar and restaurant at Ullswater Heights. We all went for the BBQ chicken pizza, and it was absolutely delicious! 🍕 🍰 DAY 5 – Grasmere & Ambleside The following day we explored Grasmere and Ambleside, including trying the famous Grasmere gingerbread and seeing the tiny house over the river. 🌲 THE REST OF OUR STAY For the final few days, we slowed things down and spent plenty of time relaxing at our lodge. We also made the most of the mini golf and dog park at Ullswater Heights, giving Remy plenty of fun and exercise too! 🐾 It was such a lovely week filled with beautiful scenery, great food, plenty of adventures and lots of relaxing — the perfect Lake District getaway for both us and Remy.
