You weren’t just saved from something.
You were saved for something.
In the final week of The Pivot, we look at Mary Magdalene’s encounter with the risen Jesus in John 20:11–18 and discover what happens when healing becomes purpose.
Mary arrived at the tomb expecting death. She came prepared to mourn—but while she stared into the place where Jesus had been buried, resurrection was already standing behind her. She was mourning a tragedy that had already become a triumph.
Then Jesus spoke one word:
“Mary.”
She recognized His voice and physically turned toward Him.
Sometimes the pivot into purpose requires us to stop staring backward—at our failures, closed doors, regrets, old victories, and painful seasons—and turn our attention toward what Jesus is doing now.
But the story doesn’t end with Mary encountering Jesus.
Jesus sends her.
“Go…and tell.”
Her encounter was personal, but her mission was public. And the same is true for us. We weren’t rescued simply to remain comfortable inside the church. We have been commissioned to carry the hope of Jesus into our homes, workplaces, schools, neighborhoods, and communities.
You don’t need a perfect past.
You don’t need all the answers.
You don’t need a theology degree.
You need a testimony.
Mary’s message was simple:
“I have seen the Lord.”
Maybe your purpose starts with something just as simple:
“Let me tell you what Jesus did for me.”

Stop staring at the grave.
Step out of the safe zone.
Become the evidence.
Go and tell.
