Given that Defense build has become less effective, this new starting talent (Frost Queen) has a place in the current meta. While it doesn't offer a huge amount of damage, the freeze effect itself is extremely useful. The Special build has definitely become stronger; it synergizes well with extended freeze durations and additional damage-over-time (DoT) effects. When paired with this starting talent, the Frost Ray ultimate effectively handles almost every challenge in Act II, and it remains highly effective in Act III as well. I’m still not a fan of Ice Beam, but it does have its uses in certain situations, and its damage output has increased significantly. It’s quite possible that these hybrid builds represent the new meta for the Snow Queen, though they might feel a bit slow in co-op play.
