My Dining Room Makeover | Nicolas Fairford

Tonight, I’m giving my dining room a new look. After living with the room as it was for some time, I felt ready for a change. Something warmer, richer and a little more enveloping. I eventually settled on Broccoli Brown by Farrow & Ball, a wonderfully earthy shade that completely changes the feeling of the space. In this video, I’m taking you through the whole process, from the first brushstroke to putting the room back together again. I wanted to film this one almost like a little documentary, capturing the reality of transforming a room at home, the decisions along the way, the inevitable mess, and that very satisfying moment when everything finally begins to come together. There is something I find incredibly restorative about changing your surroundings. Sometimes a tin of paint, a bit of effort and a fresh pair of eyes can make you fall in love with your home all over again.
