Hands on the Rope | Official Visualizer

The coast grows pale behind them, but every hand keeps pulling. “Hands on the Rope” is a Georgian-inspired sea work song driven by a rolling 12/8 rhythm, creaking rope, wooden knocks and the force of a full male crew. A weathered baritone call rises over low cello and a guttural bass drone as the vessel leaves the harbour behind. Nobody rows just for himself. Nobody eats before the boy eats.
