Unearthed Recordings of Canada's West Coast Rock Scene

Vancouver had a thriving rock scene in the 1960s, and some of its rare recordings are being brought back to life. In this video, I explore The History of Vancouver Rock 'N' Roll, Vol. 5, a collection of archival recordings from Canada's West Coast music scene with connections to artists including Chilliwack, Prism and more. I also sit down with producers Rob Frith of Neptoon Records—whose discovery of a rare copy of The Beatles' legendary 1962 Decca audition tape made international headlines, including The New York Times—and Doug Schober to discuss uncovering and preserving this music, before hearing from Howie Vickers of The Collectors about what it's like to see these recordings return more than half a century later.
