In the year since the influx began, IOM and partners have constructed:
364 deep tube wells with a further 151 currently being installed;
526 wash rooms with 78 currently being built.
In Leda in south Cox’s Bazar where water is scarce, IOM is installing pipe water systems with surface water treatment and bore holes which provide 18,000 people with around 260,000 liters of clean water each day...
In Camp 20 Extension, where IOM is helping relocate refugees most at risk of landslide, IOM is providing 30,000 liters of water with a water emergency system along with the repaired functional tube wells.
In Camp 12, in collaboration with the Japan International Cooperation Agency and the Bangladesh Department of Public Health Engineering, IOM’s deep bore hole water supply is supporting 30,000 people.
