Brock Purdy: The Early Practice Film That Made the 49ers Believe

Brock Purdy: The Early Practice Film That Made the 49ers Believe Brock Purdy was the final pick of the 2022 NFL Draft, but his early college film, training-camp development, and preseason performances helped the San Francisco 49ers recognize a quarterback worth keeping. Why did so many NFL teams underestimate the future franchise star? Long before he became San Francisco's starting quarterback, Purdy was producing exceptional numbers at Perry High School and Iowa State. His scouting reports questioned his arm strength and consistency, while his experience, anticipation, and decision-making offered a different view of his potential. This NFL documentary examines Brock Purdy's 2022 NFL Combine workout, 49ers rookie minicamp, early practice footage, preseason performances against the Packers, Vikings, and Texans, and San Francisco's decision to retain him on the active roster. Purdy was not a member of the 2022 regular-season practice squad. Follow the evidence from Iowa State football to the 49ers quarterback room, his breakthrough during the 2022 NFL season, and the career that eventually made him a Super Bowl starter.
