Our last day in Ho Chi Minh City consisted of warm weather (finally!), more pho, Saigon Cider, and the successful search for a highly coveted bottle of Vietnamese fish sauce. We arrive at the airport and say goodby to Vietnam and hello to China! Shanghai travel was a bit different - we’d just spent a few weeks in Southeast Asia, but we definitely experienced culture shock again once we got into the city. Despite only being in Shanghai for 12 hours, we can give you a few China travel tips that will come in handy if you ever travel to Shanghai! We spend our Shanghai travel day doing some sightseeing around The Bund, finding a gluten free (and vegan) poké spot, and generally exploring Shanghai in January. This definitely isn’t the most extensive Shanghai travel guide out there, since we were just on a layover and didn’t do as much research as we should have, but hopefully it’ll give you an idea of what to expect, and ideas of things to do in Shanghai, if you decide to spend your Shanghai layover exploring the city!
