The Complete Rosh Hashanah Musaf for the first day of Rosh Hashanah by R’ Yissachar Guttman (יששכר גוטמאן). Guttman’s Yamim Noraim davening is rooted primarily in the Hungarian-Satmar baal-tefillah tradition, especially the repertoire of R’ Meir Boruch Kohn (ר׳ מאיר ברוך קאהן). The repertoire transmitted through R’ Meir Boruch also contains older Hungarian material from R’ Lipa Schwartz, R’ Berl Katz of Dushinsky, R’ Shlomo Rosen, and other Hungarian baalei tefillah. Alongside the traditional nusach, Guttman also incorporates elements of classical Eastern European chazzanus, Hasidic tenuos from traditions such as Breslov and Chabad, older Ashkenazi material, and some original material of his own. In short: Hungarian-Satmar nusach in the style of R’ Meir Boruch Kohn, drawing on an older Hungarian baal-tefillah tradition while also incorporating classical chazzanus and other Hasidic and Ashkenazi musical material.
