YOUFORIA Chp. कलियुद्ध is an 11-track concept album by artist HRUTUL, where an artist tries to predict the war of Kaliyug by looking at ancient Indian wisdom and the intelligence of the future. A cinematic continuation of the YOUFORIA universe in concert format, कलियुद्ध moves from the questions of the ancient world to the anxieties of the future asking what happens when humanity approaches the end of an age, and whether its next evolution will come from within or from something beyond it. Across 11 newly created songs, ancient Indian wisdom meets future intelligence. Ideas of consciousness, identity, dharma, war, sacrifice and transformation unfold through references to the Vedas, the Gita, Ramayan and Mahabharat, while AI enters the narrative through MOH and MAAYA, two contrasting intelligences attempting to understand humanity. The album moves between Indian classical and spiritual influences, Western classical composition and contemporary electronic sounds, spanning melodic techno, trance, EDM, dubstep and house. Tracks such as अहं ब्रह्मास्मि, दशावतार, कौन है कलि?, कौमोदकी and राम vs कृष्ण? become different chapters in a larger question: who are we, what are we becoming, and what awaits us when Kaliyug reaches its end? The concert brought together seventeen songs from his 100weeks100songsChallenge, a two year project spanning 2022 to 2024 in which he set out to write and release one hundred original songs across one hundred weeks, moving through different genres and languages along the way.
