What if “Are You Really Okay?” isn’t actually about the person we initially thought it was? I’ve already reacted to Are You Really Ok?, but this song has been sitting in my head ever since — and the more I look at the lyrics, the artwork, and the psychology behind Vessel’s writing, the more I think there could be another layer hiding underneath it. In this reaction, I’m taking a much deeper look at “Are You Really Okay?” through the lens of Jungian psychology, the maternal archetype and the maternal imago. Could the “I” in this song represent a maternal figure from Vessel’s past? Could this be connected to the wounded younger self — potentially the period when the darkness first became visible? And could the woman we’ve interpreted elsewhere in Take Me Back To Eden actually be carrying an internalised maternal projection? Then there’s that artwork… The guardian figure. The spider-like imagery. The protection. The darkness. The repeated question: “Are you really okay?” I’m not claiming this is the definitive meaning of the song — that’s not what these reactions are about. I’m trying to follow the clues and see where they lead us. And honestly… this interpretation might completely change the way we understand Vessel’s relationships throughout the album. 🕷️ Is the Mothering Spider connected? 🧠 What is the maternal imago? 🩸 Could this song be looking back at a younger Vessel? 🪞 And is the romantic relationship actually repeating an older psychological wound? Let’s go down the rabbit hole. I’m the First Listen Guy… and this time, we’re going back to the beginning of the wound. #SleepToken #AreYouReallyOkay #TakeMeBackToEden #Vessel #SleepTokenTheory #Jung #JungianPsychology #MaternalImago #MusicReaction #TheFirstListenGuy
