Sky Whirl / Triple Wheel off-ride scenes, Santa Clara 1995

See the Sky Whirl in operation in Santa Clara, California. An original ride at Marriott's GREAT AMERICA, this triple Ferris wheel opened in 1976. Another Sky Whirl opened the same year at the other Marriott's GREAT AMERICA in Gurnee, Illinois. The California Sky Whirl was later renamed to Triple Wheel. Sold by Intamin AG as the Tree Triple Wheel, the massive ride was manufactured by Waagner Biro. The Santa Clara Triple Wheel was dismantled in 1997 and eventually scrapped.
