Liverpool Were AWFUL… Then Came the Comeback! | Rio Ngumoha Shines in 4-3 Win

Liverpool’s worst opening half-hour of the season — followed by an incredible turnaround. From 2-0 down to a 4-3 win over Villarreal, this was a proper Jekyll and Hyde performance. Horrendous defensive mistakes left Liverpool chasing the game, but the resilience to fight back deserves credit. How do you assess a victory that gave us so much to celebrate and so much to worry about? One clear shining light was Rio Ngumoha. Brave, exciting and fabulous to watch, he brought real quality to a chaotic night. In my Liverpool vs Villarreal match reaction, I discuss the dreadful start, the comeback and why Ngumoha’s performance was such a positive. Was the turnaround enough to outweigh the defensive concerns? And has Rio earned a bigger role? Let me know in the comments.
