Ice Fishing for Brown Trout, Pike, Bass and White Perch on Wilson pond in Southern Maine

It was later in the season here in Maine and usually the trout shut down mid February until the ice melts due to a phenomenon known as flipping when the cold water under the ice flips with the warmer water trapped underneath it at lower depths. This year has be a strange year and some ponds simply never flipped. We set out on this day to try and catch brown trout. It was the final of the 6 major trout/salmon in Maine I had left to catch this year completing what I have coined the salmonid slam.
