Emily Portman - Flowerface (Live from Moonko, Sheffield)

Flowerface retells the story of Blodeuwedd, a woman conjured from flowers in the medieval Welsh text The Mabinogion: exalted for her beauty, remembered for her defiance, and finally transformed into an owl as punishment. Emily wrote the song wondering whether that transformation was really a punishment at all. Filmed live at Deborah Maire Nelson's shop Moonko in Sheffield. Composed & performed by Emily Portman (voice, ukulele) with Louis Campbell (guitar, voice) and Lucy Revis (cello, voice).
