Can I make the Prince Buni's pole / essence good? (no)

skip to 45:12 if you wanna see the build showcase. the title says it all. 240dps is good, almost 300. but no self sustent at all, i don't recommend doing it unless you are a god player and take no damage whenever you are doing dungeons. also, it's kinda funny that I didn't manage to make a good use out of the pole, but did way better with the essence :\.
