The Odyssey Book 9 | The Name That Brought the Curse

The stranger finally reveals his name: Odysseus of Ithaca. Then he tells how that same name—shouted in pride after escaping the Cyclops—turned a brilliant victory into a curse from Poseidon. An original, story-focused retelling of Book 9 of Homer's *Odyssey*, checked against the Greek text and public-domain translations by Samuel Butler and A. T. Murray.
