*Martin Mondays | Love Is in the Miles* Sometimes a familiar highway takes us back to a moment we didn't realize we were still carrying. This week, while traveling to support one of Maxwell's friends in her college play, I remembered a winter journey Martin and I made when we were dating. My college friend had just become a mother. She was facing her final semester of school with little family support and no way to get back to campus. When Martin heard her situation, he simply said, "We'll take you back to school." And he meant it. We traveled for hours through snowy mountain roads with her newborn baby, helped her get settled, bought her groceries, and drove all the way home again. Years later, my friend is a successful nurse. And I still remember the man who made sure she had a way back to finish what she'd started.
