Nana Patekar’s Death: Tanushree Dutta’s Statement Sparks Controversy | Rez Momtaaz Tanushree Dutta’s remarks following the death of veteran Bollywood actor Nana Patekar have sparked a fresh controversy across social media and the Indian film industry. Her comments have reignited debate over the actor’s past #MeToo controversy, the allegations she made in 2018, and the emotional impact she says she experienced after speaking publicly. In this video, Reza Momtaz explores Tanushree Dutta’s viral statements, the public reaction to her comments, and the renewed discussion surrounding one of Bollywood’s most widely discussed #MeToo controversies. Following Nana Patekar’s death on October 8, 2026, Tanushree’s remarks drew criticism from the All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA), which described her comments as insensitive and accused her of seeking publicity. Tanushree, however, stood by her position and connected her statements to the experiences and emotional scars she says she has carried since the controversy began. The controversy dates back to 2018, when Tanushree Dutta accused Nana Patekar of sexual harassment during the filming of Horn Ok Pleassss. Patekar denied the allegations, and Mumbai Police subsequently filed a closure report citing insufficient evidence. The allegations and their aftermath became a significant part of India’s #MeToo movement. This video examines the key developments, the reactions from both critics and supporters, and the wider debate over accountability, public memory, and whether a person’s death changes how past allegations should be discussed.
