On the Pune-Bangalore Highway, I discovered Rau Garhi- a breathtaking fortified Wada built using 200-year-old traditional Maharashtrian architectural techniques! 🏰✨
Constructed with hand-cut stones, natural lime mortar, Rohtak domes crafted by Rajasthani artisans, and massive 300 to 400-year-old Peshwa-era pivot doors weighing hundreds of kilos, stepping inside feels like pure time travel.
Beyond the stunning heritage microclimate that keeps the interior naturally cool, their food is an absolute highlight!
I tried Ghavan, Kothimbir Wadi, Paneer Cotton Tikka, Kaju maratha, Paneer mussallam, Udal dal ghuta, Satari Sandga and Ukadicha Modak!
Their menu includes Breakfast/snack, starters, Maharashtrian & Punjabi food!
While traveling on highways, good clean washrooms are a must, Rau Garhi provides access to clean and good washrooms! A big plus point!
