ZWENIT ET- THE RUSSIAN TRACTOR

The Zenit ET is a Soviet-era, 35mm mechanical SLR film camera produced from roughly 1982 to 1993 by the BelOMO plant in Belarus and KMZ in Russia. Built on the iconic chassis of the Zenit E, it features a built-in uncoupled selenium light meter and a widely used M42 screw lens mount. Lens Compatibility: Utilizes the popular M42 screw mount, meaning it works with a massive variety of vintage lenses, most commonly found bundled with the legendary Helios-44M series (f/2, 58mm) which is known for its distinct "swirly" bokeh. Fully Mechanical: Needs no batteries to shoot. The shutter mechanism operates mechanically, with speeds ranging from 1/30 to 1/500 of a second, alongside a "B" (Bulb) mode for long exposures.Selenium Light Meter: Features a small, light-sensitive solar cell on the top plate. You align a needle inside a dial to determine your exposure settings (though aging selenium cells often lose accuracy over time).Build: The ET is a modernized version of the earlier Zenit E. Later production runs incorporated lighter alloys and more plastic parts compared to its brick-like, all-metal predecessor.
