Wild Andalusia - Land of the Lynx

Filming one of Europe’s most beautiful and unpredictable wildernesses. I head to Andalusia, Spain on a mission to find and film the elusive Iberian Lynx in the wild. Based at Gato Clavo near Sierra de Andújar, we explore some of southern Spain’s most incredible wildlife habitats. From patiently waiting in hides for wild Iberian Lynx, to climbing into the mountains in search of enormous Griffon Vultures and Lammergeiers and exploring rivers for wild Eurasian Otters, every day brings a new adventure. Along the way we encounter Red Deer, European Bee-eaters and Spanish bulls as we explore the landscapes of Andalusia. Wildlife filming never goes exactly to plan. Some days deliver incredible encounters while others test our patience. But that’s the reality of filming wildlife in the wild — there are no guarantees. The Iberian Lynx was once on the brink of extinction, making every encounter with these incredible wild cats even more special. Seeing them roaming freely in their natural habitat is a powerful reminder of what wildlife conservation can achieve.
