It’s time to trade the heavy coat of the orphan for the reality of the New Covenant.
"The Song of Freedom" is an anthemic folk-rock track about waking up to awakened eyes. When you realize the courtroom has been dismantled and there is no distance between you and the Father, the legalistic ledgers fall away. Grief and hardship become teachers rather than masters, and we begin to see that all things truly work together for our good. Step out of the courtroom and into the oneness of the vine.

The Song of Freedom (Awakened Eyes)
(Verse 1)
I used to think my history was a sentence and a chain
A catalog of wreckage and a legacy of pain
I wore the orphan label like a heavy winter coat
With a legalistic anchor tied around my sinking throat
Till the New Covenant broke open like a window in the roof
And I stopped believing lies and started looking at the truth
There is no distant judge who's keeping track of every flaw
We are living in the spirit, we have graduated law!
(Chorus)
It’s the song of freedom rising from the dirt
Healing up the memory, comforting the hurt
When your eyes are finally opened to the oneness in the vine
You see that all things work together, every branch is yours and mine
We are waking to the promise, the finished work is done
The darkness is as light before the glory of the Son!
(Verse 2)
Now the grief is just a teacher, not a master or a king
It’s a quiet, deep reminder of the love we get to sing
We take the heavy burdens that our brothers tried to bear
And we sit beside them silently and offer up a prayer
Not to fix a broken nature that was never really bad
Just to wake them from the nightmare that the legalists have had
To tell them they're in Christ, and they were never left alone
The Father’s living room is right here in the gravel stone.
(Bridge)
Awake, O sleeper, from the dream of wrath and night!
The courtroom is dismantled and the atmosphere is light
There is no separation in the height or in the deep
The Good Shepherd is right here, and He is done with putting sheep to sleep.
(Outro)
Awakened eyes.
Finished work.
The song of freedom.
No distance.
Just love.
