Full Game: Showtime at the United Center | Pistons vs Bulls (April 20, 1995)

The Detroit Pistons were once Michael Jordan's tormentors, but on April 20, 1995, the Chicago Bulls treated them like an exhibition at the United Center. With a 120-105 victory over a 28-52 Detroit squad missing Joe Dumars, coupled with a Charlotte loss in New York, the Bulls officially clinched the Eastern Conference's No. 5 seed and booked an opening-round postseason matchup against the Hornets. Michael Jordan operated with the measured detachment of a superstar treating the night as an improvised preseason scrimmage. In 27 minutes on the floor, Jordan posted 17 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists, and 1 steal. His 8-for-18 shooting night left him at .409 from the field across his 17-game regular-season return—a percentage Jordan admitted was far from satisfying, yet a calculated cost of shaking off eighteen months away from basketball. Phil Jackson gave his blessing to the showboating, watching the building feast on tomahawk jams, backward flushes, and touch alley-oops. When Detroit trimmed a 24-point deficit down to nine late in the third quarter, Jordan sat down for the fourth quarter alongside Scottie Pippen. Chicago's bench took over with a 21-6 blast, powered by Dickey Simpkins' career-high 16 points on an evening the reserves went 23-for-32, momentarily validating the post-Jordan rebuilding vision Jerry Krause had spent two years assembling. Steve Kerr tossed cold water on top-seeded Orlando, noting their fans treated postseason pressure like Disney World rather than an unforgiving crucible. But Jordan knew the true test remained his own timing. 'Training camp is over for me,' Jordan declared from his locker. 'Now the games should be something I really start to excel at.' The return had shown he was mortal, and that unfinished business was turning into pure gasoline. #MichaelJordan #ChicagoBulls #detroitpistons Timestamp Index: 00:00:00 Broadcast Begins 00:08:56 Bulls player introductions 00:09:20 Keys to the Game 00:10:10 Starting Lineups 00:11:15 Tip Off 00:11:33 Hill dunk 00:13:24 Armstrong 3 00:14:50 Armstrong 3 00:16:25 Jordan jumper 00:16:56 Jordan jumper 00:19:58 Hill Rookie Surge 00:20:53 Houston 3 00:22:57 Armstrong fast break layup 00:24:58 Pippen stats feature 00:25:58 Hill fast break dunk 00:26:26 Pippen basket 00:27:37 Pippen steal and dunk 00:28:31 Jordan baseline dunk 00:28:48 Jordan block 00:29:05 2 minutes left in the 1st 00:29:25 Armstrong 3 00:31:45 Pippen layup 00:32:20 End of 1st Quarter/Start of 2nd 00:34:14 1st Quarter Stats 00:36:28 Jordan alley-oop dunk 00:36:55 Longley block 00:38:13 Kerr 3 00:39:00 Serving Trey: Kerr 00:40:54 Harper layup 00:43:36 Jackson expansion draft profile 00:45:52 Jackson jumper 00:47:00 Kerr jumper 00:47:18 Leckner block on Harper 00:49:23 Nicholls and Amonte in attendance 00:52:47 Harper fastbreak dunk 00:54:18 Harper layup 00:54:33 Harper steal 00:55:54 2 minutes left in the 2nd 00:56:24 Bulls scoring trifecta 00:58:20 Leckner putback dunk and-1 00:59:42 Wennington jumper 01:02:35 Halftime Score 01:05:27 Halftime Analysis 01:06:35 Around the NBA 01:08:54 Jordan tribute 01:17:06 Halftime Stats 01:18:41 3rd Quarter 01:20:26 Special K Keys 01:20:41 Hill scores over Pippen 01:22:36 Hill transition layup 01:22:52 West block on Jordan 01:23:11 Perdue dunk 01:23:34 West dunk 01:26:21 Jordan dunk 01:27:32 Cummings New Found Range 01:28:48 Jordan layup 01:29:44 Jordan block 01:32:56 Pippen breakaway dunk 01:34:29 Hill alley-oop dunk 01:37:57 Jordan completes 3-point play 01:38:39 Jordan assists Armstrong 3 01:39:42 2 minutes left in the 3rd 01:39:54 Jordan assists Pippen alley-oop 01:40:41 Pippen and-1 layup 01:40:53 Cummings jumper 01:41:31 Kukoc layup 01:41:52 Jordan rebound and assist 01:42:28 Jordan breakaway dunk 01:43:49 End of 3rd Quarter/Start of 4th 01:44:39 Jordan assist to Perdue dunk 01:45:38 3rd quarter stats 01:46:14 Jordan and-1 layup 01:46:50 West dunk 01:47:16 Jordan completes 3-point play 01:47:37 Simpkins and-1 layup 01:48:35 Myers jumper 01:50:23 Pistons protected list 01:51:00 Kerr 3 01:53:10 Simpkins layup 01:55:46 Simpkins jumper 01:56:21 Longley baseline jumper 01:57:56 Unsung Hero: Leckner 01:59:19 Simpkins dunk 02:02:23 Eastern Conference Pairings 02:04:27 Longley and-1 layup 02:05:24 Buechler fast break dunk 02:06:08 2 minutes left in the 4th 02:09:37 Final Score 02:13:00 Player of the Game: Cummings 02:13:56 Around the NBA Fair Use Declaration: This video is transformative: historical sports footage restored and enhanced for educational and archival viewing.
