The Mayor’s Choice - Echoes of Heartbound

In a little village, two mayors face the same challenge: how do you help your people when those in power refuse to listen? One chooses compromise, sweet promises, and convenient lies to win favour. The other stands by the truth, even when honesty costs him everything. Told through jaunty piano, marching rhythms, and the voices of the mayors and their people, The Mayor’s Choice is a satirical tale of political promises, public opinion, and the price of choosing comfort over truth. As the village celebrates easy answers and turns away from difficult realities, the consequences of its choices slowly unfold. When the rewards are gone, the promises crumble, and both mayors walk away, the people are left to face an uncomfortable question: did their leaders fail them, or did they choose the very future they now regret? A story about leadership, accountability, and the dangerous temptation to hear only what we want to believe.
