Investing in New Hampshire's Community Centers

Community centers have a significant history in New Hampshire. Various forms of this place-based infrastructure, whether for recreational or social purposes, have been present in our communities for centuries. These spaces have evolved to meet the community’s vision and support the general welfare of its residents as well as those in surrounding communities. CDFA has a long-standing history of investing in New Hampshire’s community centers. In 2022, CDFA was allocated $23 million in resources to administer the New Hampshire Community Center Investment Program, which provided resources to nonprofits and municipalities to improve community spaces across the state. This investment of federal American Rescue Plan Act funds into 27 community centers was an opportunity to make deeper impacts within New Hampshire communities with one-time, strategic investments in critical infrastructure.
