Poet Jack Lorang of Taos, NM, joined us in Madrid, NM for a small and intimate sessions for his song "Salt Mine Blues". Definitely one of my favorites of the Madrid Sessions, Jack blends his poetry with old Americana folk and a sprinkle of old timey music. It has the air of an old blue collar musing on a late evening porch, much like his song speaks to the ever wondering and yearning heart. Lyrics: I took my pocket to the salt mine traded it in for a wooden dime spent it in town on a lukewarm time wish I could say that I was fine salt of the earth there on the table pillars behind me over my shoulder a lot lot I can say about it now a lot lot I can say about it now a lot lot I can say about it now a lot lot I can say about it now I can’t say I was expecting anymore to come of this endless desert there reflecting the sea of my undying wish just glimmering there I can taste it in the air feel it under my shoes I’ve got the salt I’ve got the salt I’ve got the salt mine blues I will take it with a grain all the years that I been chained to being sold but I will not grow old in the market place taking value at it face I lay everything down before the ocean’s sound while the tide comes in I can smell it on my skin hear it roaring within everything I do I’ve got the salt I’ve got the salt I’ve got the salt mine blues Performed Live by Jack Lorang Curated and Directed by   / ryanmrobson   Produced by Gabe Payan Tammy Perez Julian Cavett Natalie Streander
