LOWER GAULEY RIVER 9-18-26

Each year after Labor Day, Summersville Lake in WV, open the gates to create some of the best white water paddling in the world. This was initiated by whitewater paddlers, congress and the Army Corps of Engineers. The best kayakers and rafters and people from all over the country converge on the area to enjoy the big waves and challenging holes on the river. This is 13 miles of rapids known as the Lower Gauley. The Upper Gauley is even more challenging than this.
