She only texted him at 2 AM. Never in the day. Adam has loved Lila since he was 14. At 16 he gives her his hoodie when a guy dumps her by text. She always gives it back. At 20 he works the night shift at a gas station, and every time someone breaks her heart she texts "are you up?" at 2 AM and he drives to the 24 hour diner. At 2 PM she leaves him on read. On his 21st birthday he waits 3 hours with a cupcake. She posts "best night ever" with someone else. At 3:20 AM she texts him again. The night he finally tells her he loves her, she leaves his hoodie on the bench. Then Nora, the new day shift, asks him for coffee. For the first time someone texts him in the day.
