I had to cross Colombo to pick up my guitar from the luthier, so I put $15 (5,000 Sri Lankan Rupees) in my pocket and decided to see what I could find along the way. This wasn't just about spending the money. I wandered through Colombo checking the prices of everyday things—from fruit and groceries to toiletries, clothes and electronics—and bought a few things along the way too. I paid for buses, tuk-tuks and PickMe, grabbed lunch, coffee, a coconut and spicy fruit from a street vendor, checked out some ceramic plates, and even showed you where I get my haircut in Colombo and how much it costs. So what can you actually find with $15 while wandering around Sri Lanka's biggest city? Some prices were cheap. Some surprised me. And a few might start a debate. 🇱🇰 What surprised you the most? And if you live in Sri Lanka, what did I overpay for? 00:00 Intro 00:45 Taking $15 Across Colombo 🇱🇰 04:02 Thoughts on Colombo 💭 06:09 Affordable Lunch 🥗 09:27 Bus Ride Across Town 🚎 12:35 Window Shopping Begins 🪟🛍️ 12:40 Snacks, Fruits and Eggs 🍌 🥚 🍉 16:42 Meet my Barber 💈 17:18 Toiletries and Beauty Supplies 🧻 💄 19:00 Fresh Coconut 🥥 🌴 21:54 Grocery Story Prices 🛒 30:05 Guitar Luthier 🎸 32:25 Tuktuk Ride to Pettah (not PickMe) 35:10 Pettah Market Electronics and Clothes 📱 🥾 👠 40:15 PickMe Tuktuk 🛺 42:30 Achcharu in Galle Park 🥭 🌶️ #SriLanka #Colombo #SriLankaTravel #BudgetTravel #TravelVlog
