History of Iran || The 5,000-Year Civilization That Survived Every Empire

The history of Iran (Persia), from Elam and Cyrus the Great to the Iran of today. Alexander the Great, Rome, the Arab Caliphate, and the Mongols all conquered Persian land. Iran outlasted every one of them, and its culture lived on. This Iran history documentary tells the full story in one video. It follows 5,000 years of kings, empires, invasions, and comebacks. Why did conquerors keep adopting the culture of the people they beat? And why did the world switch from calling the country Persia to calling it Iran? In this documentary you will see: The ancient civilization of Elam. Cyrus the Great and the rise of the Achaemenid Empire. Zoroastrianism and the ideas that spread from it. Alexander the Great’s invasion. The Parthian Empire and its wars with Rome. The Sassanid Empire. The Arab conquest and the arrival of Islam. The Mongol invasions. The Safavid dynasty. Modern Iran. The name change from Persia to Iran. Persia was invaded again and again. Each time, it absorbed the invaders and came back as itself. That is the story of Iran. This documentary is based on archaeological discoveries, historical sources, and academic research. We help bring ancient history to life while remaining faithful to the historical record. #iran #persia #history #documentary #ancienthistory #persianempire #cyrusthegreat #alexanderthegreat #achaemenidempire #romanempire #mongolempire #zoroastrianism #middleeast #worldhistory #historydocumentary #ancientcivilizations #geopolitics #iranhistory #persianhistory #civilization
