Sher شعر - Ali Raza - Zahid Bashir - A Poetic Collaboration

Sher (شعر) is probably the most unplanned song we’ve ever made. One evening, I was sitting at the studio when my brother introduced me to this beautiful soul named Zahid Bashir — who is now simply Zahid Bhai to us. A gifted poet from Lahore with a beautiful way of putting emotions into words. That’s the thing about art — it connects. When a poet shares his words with a singer and composer, sometimes you don’t really have to try to create something. One art form naturally starts speaking to the other. Zahid Bhai started sharing a few verses, and somewhere between those words, I heard a story. Then I heard a melody. I started putting a tune to it, it started hitting all of us in the room, and we just kept going. And somehow, that one evening became Sher. For us, this isn’t really a “song-song.” It’s an emotion from one evening that we happened to capture, turn into music, and now share with all of you.
