Om Shri Gangai Nathay Namah
Let me give you a brief philosophical explanation of the purpose for which you have come here. This is a very important part of our philosophy.
It is true that, until now, whatever rituals and religious practices we have been performing have not brought about any direct effect or any direct transformation.
What I am doing is called Siddha Yoga. Siddha Yoga is a principle of the philosophy of Kashmir Shaivism.
According to Kashmir Shaivism, God has five functions: Srishti (creation), Sthiti (sustenance), Laya (dissolution), Tirodhan (concealment), and Anugrah (grace).
The fifth function, Anugraha, is performed by the Guru. Through this grace, the seeker comes to know the true state of oneself and the true state of the entire world.
I don’t really concern myself with money and such matters, you understand?
Once, I had a programme at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan on Marine Drive in Bombay. A few Gujaratis there said to me, “Please, charge some money.”
I said, “Why? Should I sell the Name?”
They said, “No, no. Just take it for the arrangements.”
I said, “All right, we’ll take it. How much should I take?”
They said, “At least eleven hundred rupees.”
So I said, “Fine. Then charge an entry fee of eleven hundred rupees for the next programme.”
Then I asked them: “Tell me, one more thing, how much money would be enough to satisfy me?”
They stepped back and said, “You won’t be satisfied. Your greed will only increase.”
Then I said, God made me say it; it was not I who was saying it.
So I said, “Look, I will go to New York, to a city in America, with empty pockets, and I will return with empty pockets.”
And Gurudev [Mahayogi Baba GangaiNath Ji Maharaj (Brahmleen)] has kept my word. I have just returned after spending a month in America.
I have a disciple there, an English woman. She got married in America to a congressman, a Democrat named Dennis Kucinich, who was running for President.
When she came to know that I was there, she came rushing to me. She was in Washington, D.C., while I was in New York. Then she took me to meet her husband.
So, by now, thousands of people have recovered from AIDS, cancer, and hepatitis B.
Now the media team from India TV has come to film this and has interviewed the doctors. They have also spoken to patients with AIDS and hepatitis B. They are asking how these patients recovered. They recovered through Yoga, through the Name of God.
There are two ways: one is Naam Jap, the chanting of the Name, and the other is meditation.
For Naam Jap, there is only one condition: keep chanting the Name silently within yourself—while you are walking, sitting, eating, drinking, at all times.
There is only one human body. Whether one is a Christian, a Muslim, a Buddhist, a Jain, or anything else, the body is the same. If AIDS can be cured in one body, it can be cured in humanity as a whole. There is one human body; the body of humanity is one. If a transformation takes place in one body, it can take place in all of humanity. The question is simply what the approach is.
So, with the Guru, all you need to do is make a request. Folding your hands, pleading, begging—all of that has no significance.
Just say, “Let this benefit come to me alone.” And do not tell anyone about it. You will know the outcome right away.
Then I focused on that light. I thought, “We see light with our eyes, but how am I seeing it within?” As I focused on the light, I heard a humming sound, like a bumblebee, coming from within my abdomen.
I said, “What is this? How can there be the sound of a bumblebee in my abdomen?”
When I concentrated on that sound, I found that the Gayatri Mantra was being chanted from within—from the navel, not from the throat.
I was greatly surprised. Anyway, the meditation was disturbed, and I could not understand what had happened.
People asked me, “What happened?” I told them what had happened, and they said to me, “Sir, you have attained a siddhi. You should make tantric use of it. People will offer you lakhs of rupees, and we too will be benefited.” Several pandits came to me. When they came, I understood that, yes, something unusual had happened.
Those who have come here for the realization of God should, for 15 to 20 days, observe five or six times a day whether the mantra is continuing within or not. The Name has to be chanted mentally, in the mind—not from the throat, or with the tongue. The lips and tongue should not move. It should keep going within the mind—continuously.
Then Ajapa will begin—the mantra will continue on its own, without any conscious effort. After that, you will be free from the problem of having to remember to chant the Name consciously.
