Watch the testing of RAPTOR MINI with VGS PLATE, the first reusable screw for lifting timber elements, installed with TORQUE LIMITER to prevent the screw from being overtightened. To secure RAPTOR MINI to the CLT panel, VGS PLATE screws are inserted into timber at 45°, simulating real construction site conditions. The system is then subjected to combined shear and tension stresses. According to the certification calculations, the screws must be able to withstand a load of 28 kN per screw (56 kN in total) for structural application and 2,47 kN for lifting purpose (4,79 kN total) When subjected to the maximum load of 65 kN, the timber fails in a controlled manner, forming a characteristic double plastic hinge around the screws. With safety factors of +110% for structural applications and a safety factor of 11:1 for lifting, VGS PLATE screw confirms itself as a reliable solution for both structural steel-to-timber connection and handling construction site elements.
