🌊 Scarborough to Redcliffe! 🦶 Beaches, Shipwrecks & Hidden Treasures! 🏖️ #beachlife #scarborough #redcliffe 🌊 *GOODBYE CARAVAN LIFE… HELLO NEW ADVENTURES!* 🏖️☀️ Welcome back to Wonder Down Under Travel! 🇦🇺 This week, the boys and I are heading to the beautiful Redcliffe Peninsula in Queensland for a relaxing seaside mini vacation! After deciding to sell our beloved caravan, we're starting a new chapter of family travel — exploring new destinations and trying different places to stay! This time, we're staying in a cute little chalet at a caravan park, perfectly located for exploring Scarborough and Redcliffe. And what a fantastic little getaway we had! 🌴 *WHAT WE DISCOVERED:* 💦 Splashing around at the waterfront water playground 🚢 Discovering a shipwreck along the coastline 🚶 Walking approximately 5 km from Scarborough to Settlement Cove Lagoon 🏖️ Exploring beautiful beaches, playgrounds and swimming spots 🍦 Enjoying delicious ice cream along the Redcliffe waterfront 🎶 Discovering Bee Gees Way and finding one of the Bee Gees' former homes 🛍️ Exploring the famous Redcliffe Markets 🌊 Walking along the historic Redcliffe Jetty 🏊 Swimming at Settlement Cove Lagoon 🐟 Enjoying fish and chips by the water 🌅 Watching some absolutely spectacular sunsets over Moreton Bay 💡 *DID YOU KNOW?* Redcliffe was the site of the first British penal settlement in what is now Queensland, established in September 1824. The settlement relocated to Brisbane the following year! We also discovered that Scarborough was named after the English seaside town of the same name. 🚶 *NO CAR NEEDED!* One of the best things about exploring Scarborough and Redcliffe is how easy it is to get around! We walked along the beautiful waterfront and used local buses to explore the area. ❤️ *A NEW CHAPTER FOR OUR FAMILY* We're saying goodbye to our caravan and looking forward to discovering quirky accommodation, hidden gems and exciting destinations across Australia.
