No history teacher ever told me about Cassivellaunus, Caratacus, Boudica or the Ordovices. So I went looking myself. This is a solo trek up Tre'r Ceiri and Yr Eifl, two Celtic hillforts on the Llŷn Peninsula in North Wales, and Tre'r Ceiri is one of the best-preserved Iron Age forts anywhere in Britain. Stone walls still standing four metres high, two thousand years on. Somebody lived up there. Somebody stood on that wall watching for the Romans. Fair warning: I'm not a historian and I'm not claiming to be. I'm piecing it together as I go, I get lost, I swear at some sheep, and my calves are on fire the whole way up. But I've got an unhealthy obsession with these people, and I think their stories deserve telling. I make films for a living, but this isn't that. No crew, no cinema camera. Just me, a selfie stick and a cheap mic, getting out from behind the lens for once. First of a few of these. If you want to come along for the next one, stick around. #Celts #TrerCeiri #Wales #CelticHistory #NorthWales #Hillfort #YrEifl #IronAge #AncientBritain #Brythonic #Boudica #Cassivellaunus #Llyn #History #Hiking
