Can McDonald's fries really hit $10? Not a meal. Not a delivery order. Just the fries. We follow the journey from potato fields to the drive-thru—and explore what it would take for that price to become reality.
Behind the red carton is a chain of farming, processing, freezing, trucking, restaurant labor, rent, and franchise economics. Which costs push the price up? What can hold it down? And would $10 in the future mean the same thing as $10 today?
We trace the history, examine published U.S. prices, and test three hypothetical paths to $10. The calculations use a historical $3.29 medium-fries average from 2024 as the starting point—not a current nationwide menu price. The timelines are scenarios, not predictions.
