ElderLink: Voice Notes to Verified Care Records | AWS Serverless Hackathon Demo

ElderLink turns the voice notes caregivers already send into a trustworthy, evidence-backed care record, so no handoff starts from zero. Caregivers share critical information about an elder's day through voice notes. It gets scattered, forgotten by the next shift, and lost at handoff. ElderLink lets them just talk. WHAT YOU'LL SEE • Record a voice note in the browser • It is transcribed (Groq Whisper) and structured into a Care Event • Every event cites the exact transcript sentence it came from • Nothing is silently trusted: events start as "Needs verification", and only a human can mark them verified (saved to the backend, so it survives a refresh) • Care, Timeline and Handoff views for the next caregiver WHY IT'S DIFFERENT Most AI note-takers stop at a summary. ElderLink is built around not overclaiming: claims are not facts, the AI never grants trust, contradictions are preserved, and the only write path is a narrowly scoped, least-privilege API. HOW IT'S BUILT (all serverless on AWS) Browser → presigned S3 upload → EventBridge → Lambda (transcription) → Lambda (extraction + review policy) → DynamoDB → HTTP API → React on Amplify Hosting Providers are swappable with one environment variable (Groq, Deepgram, OpenAI, Voxtral, mock). 498 automated tests. HONEST STATUS Transcription is real. Extraction is currently a deterministic rule-based provider because Amazon Bedrock model access is still pending on our AWS account.
