How to disassemble ASP handcuffs - Remove lock for cleaning, maintenance or replacement

ASP handcuffs come with unitized locking mechanism, meaning they are removable and replaceable. The colour of the double lock signifies the type of mechanism. Yellow is one standard pawl (typical basic American design), Green is the 3 pawl design used in Europe (UK uses 3 pawls in TCH handcuffs) and Blue uses the high security 2 pawl with the anti-pick plate which requires a special key (or a specially modified standard key). Red is rare and only for training, as you can pull the handcuffs open without needing a key while they are single locked. With this technique, you can remove the lockset entirely, facilitating cleaning and maintenance as well as swapping the locking mechanism to a different one or a replacement of the same type in case of damage or wear from extensive use. This can save money compared to buying an entire new set of handcuffs. However it's only cheap to do that in the US, as if you buy replacement locksets from other vendors, they usually charge through the nose for them, though technically still a BIT cheaper than a full set of cuffs. Please be careful when removing the lockset from the cuffs. Do not overly keep doing this because the little nobble that helps to keep the lockset in place when the cuffs are open, if worn down or snapped would mean the lock would fall out when ever the cuffs are open! Also, you see me prying on the front side of the lockset, this was very light pressure, because there are notches sticking out either side which meet the groves in the bow and these protrusions block the lockset from coming up, which is why it has to come out and go in at an angle from the back side.
