A fierce struggle for the Seljuk throne divides the empire as Sultan Izzeddin and his younger brother Alaaddin become bitter rivals. Determined to uncover those supporting his brother, Alaaddin secretly travels to Kaloronos to investigate its King, Kir Vard. There, he falls into an ambush led by Kir Vard's daughter, Destina, a beautiful, intelligent and fierce Byzantine warrior who deeply despises the Turks after losing her mother. When Alaaddin is wounded, Destina unexpectedly saves him and hides him in a cave, nursing him back to health without knowing his true identity. Alaaddin, captivated by his mysterious savior, falls in love with her. However, Ummuhan, the mother of both princes, eventually finds Alaaddin and delivers him to Izzeddin. Betrayed by his mother and mentor, Alaaddin is sentenced to life imprisonment. Eight years later, following Izzeddin's death, Alaaddin is released and crowned Sultan on the condition that he marry Melike Hatun. His ascension upends the balance of power, fueling conspiracies both within and beyond the Seljuk Empire. Meanwhile, Destina travels to Konya and is stunned to discover that the man she once saved is the new Sultan, Alaaddin. As he battles his enemies, Alaaddin is drawn into a dangerous love with the daughter of his greatest rival. Caught between her love for Alaaddin and loyalty to her homeland, Destina must navigate the ruthless Seljuk court and powerful women within the palace, even as she finds herself unable to walk away from the man she once saved.
