This year marks 25 years since the attacks on the World Trade Center on Sept. 11, 2001. That day was filled with fear, pain, loss and so much more. Now, two and a half decades later, we continue to Never Forget that day nor the lives lost. And while we remember the events of 9/11, we also remember the atmosphere of 9/12 - the unity, the brotherhood, the love and the patriotism across the nation. As the years go on, we remember both days and it's our job to pass down the stories of both of those days to the next generation. In light of 9/11, as we Never Forget, there are some things we actually should forget. Things that we should stop holding onto because they aren't serving us, drawing us together, or uniting us the way we want and so desperately need. Things like anger and bitterness, unforgiveness and resentment. Each day we have a choice to either pick those things up or rid ourselves of them completely. By the grace of God, not every day will be as tragic as 9/11, but we have to power to make every day just like 9/12.
