Oblique Cervical Spine X-Ray | Positioning & Radiographic Technique In this video, we demonstrate the oblique cervical spine X-ray, a specialized projection used to evaluate the intervertebral foramina, pedicles, articular pillars, and other bony structures of the cervical spine. Cervical spine oblique views are particularly important when assessing the neural foramina, which can become narrowed due to degenerative changes or other pathology. The AP oblique projection demonstrates the foramina on the side closest to the image receptor, while the PA oblique demonstrates the foramina on the side farthest from the image receptor.
