Images and some video clips used in this video are not what I pictured when writing the song. I have not found a way to make pictures that would fit to this song, the AI refused to make fight scenes. So I ask of you, listener, to use your imagination to picture what the songs tells and forgive me for reusing a few images and not made the fight scenes you might picture inside of you. And I know most of the forest images and videos are to bright, but you would not see much if it is as dark as the characters would experience it in the story. After wrestling with AI image generators for days to get just one usable image, if I was lucky, I’ve given up. For now. The images are only there for visual flavor and might not be 100% accurate with the lyrics. But fear not, Keeper of Tales, the true experience lies in the story, the melody, and the feeling it leaves inside you. Just as it has grown inside me. About this song: Chapter 7 in the saga "A Choice in the Shadows". From a trial of warriors, new ones emerge. Are you ready, Keeper of Tales? Lyrics: They move on, weary and unsure. Uncertain of what comes next, they press on through the fading light. Barely showing the details of an unfamiliar land. Each step heavier, their spirits tested by the unknown. The soldier notices something, a glimmer in the shadows. Fate is calling. And the answer lies ahead. The soldier sees the warrior move. Lying still, and trying not to draw attention. Rage long gone, replaced by doubt. Thoughts start to grow. With energy on low, unsure of what to do next. A shaking hand, he strives to grip his sword. Surroundings stop making sense, as the warrior emerges. The brave soldier passes out... Closer comes the warrior, unknowing of the situation. Eyes scanning the shadows, heartbeat like a wardrum. He moves closer, towards the passed out soldier. At first he did not notice, so well camouflaged. He took a tumble, unsure of how to react. Did he just give away his position? Is there movement out there? But then he saw the other, with his eyes shut closed. What will he do? Now is his chance, No one around, to witness his acts. His sword shaking in his hand, cloudy vision. Not knowing what to do, all he hears is his heartbeats. He can barely lift it, exhaustion fills him like the man on the ground. Thoughts racing through his head... Will he also pass out? How will this end? Warriors on the battlefield, tired of everything! Why must we fight all the time, why must we kill? How did this start, so far away from home! Is it only kill or be killed? How long must this go on? This path of hollow faces, staring from the ground. So many were our friends... We’ve grown so weary of this endless strife! The warrior pulls him self together, and shakes his head. We will not be another stain for others to witness! He must focus, and decide what to do next. But first, the fainted soldier. Does he breathe? His chest rises faintly. Life remains. Visions of a brother, comes to mind. What will the soldier do, if he wakes up? Could I trust this moment, or would it betray me? The wind turns to silence, and so does everything else. Silence is all that can be heard, consuming fear and exhaustion. Thoughts collide, becoming a torment in the dark. His life, now in my hands. I choose to let him experience another day! My faith is decided by me, the warrior said to himself. I have done what I can for this soldier. No idea where he is from, so different from me. So many questions, but will there be an answer? In case I need to flee, I should keep my distance. The night swallows my fears, yet leaves me wide awake. No sleep for me tonight, I don’t mind. Red-stained grass marks the path I’ve taken, But it won’t be mine to leave behind. I choose to heal, not to destroy. A new path must be forged this night. The silence grows deafening, yet the path is unclear. Shadows merge with the night. New roads I will take. When light is shown, green grass... Is all that must grow! Will the soldier make it and will he wake soon? What will his reaction be? Each heartbeat echoes a question: To fight or to find peace? The forest whispers secrets, hiding the truth that only it can unveil. But the story doesn’t end here. The night still holds its mysteries.
